What is Mechanical Breakdown Protection?

Mechanical Breakdown Protection (MBP) is an extended warranty that is designed to assist with the cost associated with mechanical breakdowns, not including routine maintenance. For more details on MBP, please visit a Delta Community Credit Union branch or call us at 800-544-3328.

Mechanical Breakdown Protection is not available to residents of CA and MA.

Why do you need MBP?

Did you know that one in three vehicles experiences a mechanical failure in a given year? A typical warranty owner will make several claims during the life of the agreement. Should your vehicle experience a failure after the manufacturer’s warranty expires, you will have no protection from the unexpected repair cost without an extended warranty. These repairs can be estimated from a couple of hundred dollars into the thousands.

What are the three protection levels available for MBP?

  • Ultimate Guard – Named Exclusion Plan
  • Preferred Guard – Named Component Plan
  • Classic Guard – Power Train Protection

What is KeyGuard Protection? (Only available under Ultimate Guard)

There are 3 components under KeyGuard Protection:

  1. Key/Remote Replacement – In the event your key/remote is lost, stolen, or destroyed, AssureGuard will reimbursed you the for reasonable repair cost for a replacement key/remote up to maximum of $800 per year.
  2. Home Lock-Out Assistance – If you are lock out of your primary residence, AssureGuard will reimbursed you up to $85 per occurrence.
  3. Additional Key Replacement Protection – AssureGuard will reimburse you for the cost incurred to replace covered keys that were on your key ring at the time your keys were lost, stolen, or inoperable up to $200 per occurrence.

What is the Tire and Wheel Road Hazard Protection? (Only available under Ultimate Guard)

Covers repair or replacement of tires & wheels which become unserviceable due to road hazards.

  • Tire Benefit: $200 per occurrence, up to 4 occurrences per contract
  • Wheel Benefit: $200 per occurrence, up to 4 occurrences per contract
  • Cosmetic Wheel Benefit: $150 per occurrence, up to 4 occurrences per contract

Are there any other additional benefits by purchasing MBP?

Yes. Rental Car Reimbursement, Travel Expenses, Emergency Roadside Assistance, Paintless Dent Repair, Windshield Repair Protection and VIP Anniversary Benefit Pack are included on all coverage level without an additional fee.

Is MBP transferable if the vehicle is sold and is a prorated refund available?

MBP is transferable for a small fee if you sell the vehicle before the agreement expires or a prorated refund can be received if the protection is canceled.

Do I need to take my vehicle back to the dealership where I purchased it to have it repaired?

No. With an AssureGuard warranty, you can take your car to any licensed repair shop within the United States and Canada that accepts credit card payments.

How do I file a claim?

If your vehicle needs repair, drive or have it towed, if not drivable, to any licensed repair facility in the US or Canada and provide the MBP Plan information to the service manager. After the vehicle is diagnosed, the repair facility will contact the claims department at 877-831-3077 to received repair authorization for all covered repairs. Keep in mind that the repair facility will need approval to diagnose the issue. Approved claims are paid directly to the repair facility via a corporate credit card.
