When I stepped into the recording booth at Q100
, I was immediately thrust into my childhood memories of where my love for voice-overs and public speaking began. Although I have done many voice-overs before, this one was different. This was a commercial about Delta Community’s new young adult program, Quarterlife
and their first Quarter Reporter, ME! Debuting in my own commercial was definitely a surreal experience.
As one of Atlanta’s top radio stations, Q100 is known for its music, concert giveaways, celeb interviews, frequent contests and their on-air personalities. As a listener, it was fun to record a spot with Q100’s popular DJ Adam Bomb
. We did two 60 second spots. It may sound like a short amount of time, but a lot goes into creating commercials. First, there is writing the script. Next, there’s making sure the script can be voiced within the allotted time. And, most importantly, editing – music, sound effects and checking for mistakes are done in this phase. Good thing we had Q100’s Production Director, Doug Harding, taking care of those aspects for us. All of these components played an important role in completing our two Quarterlife commercials.
During these spots, I share tips on how to save money and the importance of determining needs
when it comes to spending. I simply can’t say enough about why I feel Quarterlife is a great financial resource for young adults like me. Come see for yourself. Delta Community has a little something for everyone
. Be sure to tune in to Q100 to hear my commercials and more of our financial tips. A special thanks to Q100’s Karolyn Johnston and the Delta Community team for making this come together.
