Once a check has been deposited, it takes a few days to obtain notification that a deposit is insufficient. It depends on the number of times the issuing bank runs the check through their clearing house, if the check is in/out of state, etc. When a returned deposit item is sent back as unpaid, Delta Community Credit Union will collect the unpaid funds from the account that the deposit was originally deposited into or the account the funds were cashed against.
