Burnette Elementary student wins savings account in essay contest

A Burnette Elementary fifth-grader, Nicholas Yelle, was among 11 students who won a $100 Sandy Savers Savings Account from the Delta Community Credit Union Youth Month Essay Contest, which asked students why it is wise to save money.
Nicholas wrote that “saving money for the future is wise because it can help pay for college, retirement, and “in general, help you have a better life for yourself and your family.”
In addition to Nicholas, 10 other students who attend Delta Community’s Partners in Education schools throughout metro Atlanta also received $100 savings accounts for their entries in the contest, which the credit union held during National Credit Union Youth Savings Month in April.
