Delta Community Credit Union Golf Tournament Supports Children’s Miracle Network, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta

More than $72,000 Presented to CMN for Local Children’s Hospital

Atlanta (Oct. 22, 2012) – Delta Community Credit Union presented more than $72,000 to Children’s Miracle Network last week to help young patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). For its fifth annual Delta Community Credit Union Tees Up “Fore” Kids Golf Tournament on September 19, the credit union again partnered with Children’s Miracle Network to raise funds designated for CHOA. These funds include a match from Delta Community’s Board of Directors and a $10,000 Miracle Match from CO-OP Financial Services. As a not-for- profit financial cooperative, Delta Community stays involved in the communities it serves by actively supporting programs that benefit its members and their families.

Two former patients of Children’s Healthcare, Eric Penland and Nate Reich, were among the 140 golfers who hit the links at Olde Atlanta Golf Club in Suwanee, Ga. to raise money that will help fund a new Prosthetics Laboratory and Robotics Center in the hospital’s Rehabilitation Services department. The new Center will allow children born without a limb or patients who may lose an arm or leg due to accident or illness renewed mobility with the assistance of customized prosthetics.

Delta Community has had a long-standing relationship with Children’s Miracle Network and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and was excited to partner with the organizations for the fifth consecutive year. “This golf tournament and fundraising effort is something that we at Delta Community look forward to each year. It is our absolute pleasure to be able to play if even a small role to support the excellent work that CMN and CHOA do in our own backyard on a daily basis,” says Rick Foley, president and CEO of Delta Community.
