Spelman College Student Awarded HBCU Scholarship

Delta Community and Atlanta radio station KISS 104's scholarships for students attending Georgia’s Historically Black Colleges or Universities (HBCUs) continued in September, with a check for $2,000 being presented to Etienne Batiste of College Park, Georgia.
Etienne is majoring in civil engineering and plans to use her degree to improve the city of Atlanta. She is very dedicated to her education as she earned 30 college credit hours while still in high school and she was selected as valedictorian. Etienne has been a member of Delta Community since 2015.

Throughout 2016, Delta Community will award a total of $8,000 in scholarships to students attending HBCUs in the state of Georgia.

Mt. Zion Branch Celebrates 10 Years of Service

Delta Community recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Stockbridge - Mt. Zion Branch. In a ceremony commemorating this milestone, senior vice president Pam Davis thanked members for their support.
"As one of our busiest locations, Mt. Zion has contributed to our success over the past decade,” Pam said. “The support of our members and the hard work and dedication of this branch team are greatly appreciated."

The Mt. Zion Branch was the third free-standing location that Delta Community built after expanding its field of membership in 2005. Located in Henry County, the Mt. Zion Branch services 50,000 members and also supports the area with financial and volunteer investments in many organizations, schools and charities.

Chip Card Conversion Update

Our chip card conversion continues this month as chip Debit Cards are mailed to existing Debit Cardholders.
When used at chip-enabled terminals, smart chip technology creates a unique, one-time code for each transaction, so it is virtually impossible to replicate in a counterfeit card. October is known as National Cyber Security Awareness Month. One of the most common forms of cyber security related concerns is identity theft, which occurs when someone uses your personal information without your knowledge or consent for financial or other gain.
A few ways you can keep yourself safe from identity theft include:
• Review your credit report at least once a year
• Guard your personal information
• Regularly check bank statements
• Carefully dispose documents and mail with your personal information
• Protect your computer and smartphone with anti-virus software and challenging passwords
