Delta Community Credit Union Renews Financial Literacy Program Sponsorship Record Partnership with brass | Media Provides Educational Enrichment to More than 200,000 Georgia Students

August 12, 2014 – Delta Community Credit Union (, Georgia’s largest credit union, announces its sponsorship for a second year of the brass | Media Student Program. The Credit Union’s partnership with the financial literacy program last year reached approximately 212,000 students in 159 schools in the metro Atlanta area.

“In just one year, Delta Community’s region saw a massive 471% growth in teacher registrations,” says Laura Edmonston, education director for the brass | Student Program. “That percentage is, by far, the highest growth rate of all of our sponsors with a similar area size.” Because of this success, Edmonston says brass | Media will begin a case study of Delta Community’s practices so it can determine how other sponsors, nationwide, might improve their outreach.

Nationwide, the brass | Student Program reaches more than 600,000 students and 3,000 teachers. Coincidentally, a Georgia teacher was the 3,000th to register for the program. Michael Young, pictured left, teaches at Collins Hill High School in Gwinnett County. He says the program strengthens students’ understanding of money, career options and expectations in college.

In addition to the brass | Student Program, Delta Community also offers Quarterlife, a complete banking program for young adults, Serve and Deserve, a fundraising match program for high school clubs and organizations, an annual Scholarship Fund and Credit Unions for Kids which supports Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
