Free Overdraft Protection Service for Checking Accounts

Overdraft Protection Service

Prevent Insufficient Funds

What is Overdraft Protection?

Overdraft Protection is a service that uses the funds in your other qualified Delta Community Credit Union bank accounts to cover insufficient funds in your Checking Account. Overdraft Protection is one of our Account Protection Tools which also include Courtesy Pay and Courtesy Pay Plus.

What are Qualified Bank Accounts for Overdraft Protection?

By other qualified bank accounts, we mean your Delta Community Credit Union:

  • Savings Account
  • Money Market Account
  • Visa® Credit Card
  • Line of Credit

More than one account can be used to cover your transactions. You choose which qualified bank accounts you want to link to your Checking Account other than your Savings Account, which is automatically linked.

What are Eligibility Requirements for Overdraft Protection?

There are no eligibility requirements unless you want to link a Visa, Overdraft Line of Credit or Personal Line of Credit, which are dependent on credit approval.

Does Overdraft Protection cost a fee?

Overdraft Protection requires no fees to set up for your Checking Account. There are also no fees for overdraft transfers from Savings Accounts or Money Market Accounts. However, if a Visa Credit Card or a loan such as a line of credit is utilized, you will incur finance charges and a $2 fee will apply.

Certain withdrawals (including overdraft transfers) from savings accounts and money market accounts are limited to six (6) per month. Overdraft transfers which exceed this limit may be denied or may incur fees. See Reg D FAQs for more information.
