Personal finance is one of the most sensitive subjects in a person’s life. For that reason, it’s typically not something that’s easy for people to discuss. If someone is doing well, they may be hesitant to allow an outsider into their seemingly secure world. If they’re not doing well, they could feel embarrassed or even hopeless. Neither is an ideal state of mind for open dialogue. Most of us fall somewhere in the middle of this spectrum. I strive to create a comfortable environment that gives people the freedom to voice their needs, concerns and most importantly, their dreams.

My expertise as an advisor is problem solving. We all have blind spots, whether driving down the road or planning for our future, and need help to protect us from them. I believe in active listening, really hearing what a client is saying and what they’re not saying. I want my clients to know they’ve been heard and that together we’ll find solutions that will help them accomplish their goals.

This is the second act of my life. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from New York University (NYU), and I have written, produced and performed all over the world, including The Alliance Theater in Atlanta. I have written for Success magazine and the Piedmont Review. In 2007, I was freelance writing for my financial advisor who had been searching many years for the right partner for his business. As crazy as it sounded at the time, he offered me a partnership. A year later, the most serious financial crisis since the Great Depression led to a mass exodus from the industry. In light of the upheaval, I felt that there might be room for creative, sensitive, unique perspectives in an industry not known for such things. Joining Delta Community Credit Union in 2015 has allowed me to continue using these unique perspectives to educate our members.

I am a New Yorker who has learned to embrace Dixie, but not grits.  My wife and I have six children, three boys and three girls; four are hers and two are mine – a post-modern real life Brady Bunch. I’m still involved in theater and enjoy playing golf when time permits.
