Delta Community Insights for June 2022

A Mid-Year Message from Our CEO

Delta Community CEO Hank Halter

Dear Valued Member,

As we have all had to do in our personal lives during the past two years, Delta Community has stayed focused and been resilient in order to manage through the pandemic.

Our employees successfully sustained operations and consistently kept our branches open during the peak of the various surges in COVID-19, including the significant spike caused by the omicron variant this past winter. Our team is committed to being available in person whenever needed as we recognize the confidence you place in us as your chosen financial partner.

We also stayed on track with our broader business plan and delivered on many initiatives that we had underway or planned previously. In addition to maintaining highly attractive interest rates and pricing, Delta Community allocates dollars annually for service enhancements, new offerings or infrastructure upgrades that add to member convenience and value.

Key accomplishments in 2022 include:

  • Launching our new Visa® Signature Credit Card that offers 1.5x Reward Points for all eligible purchases, equivalent to 1.5% Cash Back, along with other exclusive benefits.
  • Opening a new branch in Woodstock, Georgia—our second location in Cherokee County, our 29th in metro Atlanta and 32nd overall.
  • Introducing our innovative “Live Teller” platform. This technology enables members to video chat and interact with a teller on select  ATMs. We intend to expand this offering over time as a helpful service alternative during peak business times or after normal branch hours.

I would be remiss here if I did not acknowledge the additional stress we are all feeling today as recent geopolitical concerns and ongoing supply chain disruptions have resulted in high inflation and the threat of a significant economic downturn or recession. Many members have turned to us for guidance with their budgeting and long-term savings or investment plans.

Delta Community has numerous resources to assist in this regard. CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals are available to help you evaluate your overall financial strategy based on your individual goals.  Our award-winning Financial Education Center continues to host free, practical workshops on personal budgeting, credit score management, first-time car and home buying, and other relevant topics.

Again, we appreciate the opportunity to serve you and will work to earn your loyalty each day. Please know we will continue to monitor conditions with the pandemic and reinstitute preventive healthcare measures for the safety and welfare of members and employees if additional surges occur in the coming months.

Best wishes,

Hank Halter

Chief Executive Officer

Mother's Day Giveaway Winners

Mother's Day giveaway winners

In celebration of Mother’s Day, we recently conducted a special “Mother’s Day Giveaway” promotion on our Facebook page. Members were invited to post comments on our page about the impact their moms, grandmothers, wives or other mother figures have had on their lives, and two lucky moms won $50 Target gift cards. Our winners, Tracy, who nominated her mom Diann (pictured left) and Chanthany, who nominated her mom Deborah (pictured right), submitted the following entries:

Tracy says, “Me, my mom, my daughter and my granddaughter. Four generations made strong by my momma, Diann Johnston. She's my hero, my rock, my mom. She didn't birth me but in her heart she's always held me. Adoption rocks!”

Chanthany nominated her mom with, “This is my mother Deborah. She is incredibly special to our family because she has taught us the value of loving others and supporting them. She is the reason why I am the mother that I am today. Her current appearance is a far cry from this photo as she is battling major health issues but she is still so beautiful to us. This Mother's Day I'm happy she is still here for us to celebrate!

Be sure to follow us on Facebook for a chance to win our next photo submission contest.
