What types of overdraft protection are available for my Checking Account?
When your account is first opened, your Primary Savings Account is set up as overdraft protection for your Checking Account. Please be mindful however of the withdrawal limitations on savings accounts subject to Reg D. Exceeding these limitations may result in fees and/or the transactions being declined. You may also use your Additional Savings, Money Market Accounts, a Personal Line of Credit and/or your Delta Community Visa Credit Card as overdraft protection for your Checking Account. (Home Equity Line of Credit loans cannot be used for overdraft protection.) A $3 transfer fee will apply to any overdraft transfers that pull from any credit product. This fee will be charged per transfer.
You can apply online through your Online Banking for any of these loans or by calling 800-544-3328.
(Overdraft protection cannot be established for your Savings Account withdrawals).
How many transfers am I allowed each month from my Savings Account?
Each month you are allowed six (6) transfers from your Savings and Money Market Accounts per Reg D. More information on Reg D.
Is there a fee to have or use Overdraft Protection for my checking account?
Overdraft transfers that are pulled form Savings, Money Market or other share accounts will not be assessed a fee. How the Visa credit card acts as overdraft protection for the Checking Account:
