January 2026

A New Year Message from Our CEO

Delta Community CEO Hank Halter

Dear Members,

We hope you enjoyed time with family and friends during the holiday season.

As we welcome 2026, I want to thank you for allowing Delta Community to serve you. Our goal is to be your first choice for any banking need, and we will always strive to deliver a level of support and value that earns us this consideration. I also want to update you on our efforts to build on our recent momentum through several initiatives.

Last year, we achieved continued membership growth (+2.85%), opened new branches (Locust Grove, GA and Conyers, GA) and invested in our technology infrastructure. These efforts benefit our collective membership by enabling us to further protect and enhance the value and convenience that we offer.

Delta Community is committed to sound, sustainable business practices, and you can rest assured of our strong financial position. Unlike for-profit institutions that have incentive to take on risk, we deliberately manage to high capital and asset quality ratios so we can provide members with a consistent experience throughout the full economic cycle. Based on our not-for-profit, cooperative structure, our mission is clear and constant—to deliver trustworthy, personalized care and attractive pricing on the deposit and loan products that we all need to manage our daily household expenses and save for the future.

Key member-focused investments for 2026 include:

  • Digital Banking Enhancements. In response to member feedback, we are modernizing the user interface in our online and mobile banking channels. The upgrades will roll out in the first quarter and span a refreshed visual design; more intuitive navigation; and functionality to make everyday transactions faster and easier to conduct. Later in the year, we will launch a new online account opening system to make applying for new deposit accounts and loans more seamless.
  • Public Website Redesign. To further enhance our digital banking experience, we will launch a newly redesigned website in late 2026 that prioritizes usability. The new site will feature a cleaner layout, faster load times and more flexible navigation—making it easier to check rates, research new services or access your account. It will also be optimized for greater ease of use and uniformity across devices.
  • New Branches. We continue to broaden our physical presence to better reach you where you live and work. Our newest branch will open this summer in Roswell, GA at 660 W. Crossville Road and count as our 32nd location in metro Atlanta and fourth in the North Fulton area. We routinely evaluate our existing locations to pinpoint in-fill opportunities across our 20-county footprint, and member recommendations always factor into our process.
  • Community Investment. Good corporate citizenship aligns with our mission and is one of our core business values. Delta Community allocates a minimum of 2% of annual earnings to foster the ongoing vitality of the communities where we are privileged to operate. In 2026, we expect to invest more than $1.5 million in philanthropic grants; educational programming and scholarships; and partnerships with non-profit and civic organizations.

Again, we are grateful to have you as part of Delta Community and look forward to helping you achieve any resolutions or goals you have set for the year. If you have not seen our latest commercials yet, please keep an eye out for one of five spots that feature Delta Community employees sharing the sense of fulfillment they derive from serving you and our local communities.

Best wishes for your happiness, health and prosperity.

Delta Community Partners with WSB-TV for Annual Coat Drive

coat drive

This holiday season, Delta Community Credit Union is proud to once again partner with WSB-TV to support our neighbors through the Annual Coat Drive. Together, we’re collecting new and gently used coats to help keep individuals and families in our community warm during the cold winter months.

We invite our members to join us in spreading comfort and kindness by donating coats at participating Delta Community branches. Donations can be dropped off through Friday, January 9, at the following branches:

Every contribution makes a meaningful difference. Each coat donated not only provides warmth but also reflects the generous spirit of our Delta Community family. Thank you for helping us share warmth and goodwill throughout the season.

New Delta Community Branch Set to Open in Roswell

We’re excited to share that Delta Community will soon expand its footprint in metro Atlanta with the opening of our 32nd branch—right in the heart of Roswell! Scheduled to open in summer 2026, this full-service location will offer all the conveniences members expect, including two 24-hour ATMs that also operate as Live Tellers for extended service flexibility.

Located at 660 W. Crossville Road in the Stonebridge Square shopping center, the branch will provide added ease and accessibility for thousands of members who live and work in the area. “Our future Roswell branch will enhance service to approximately 4,000 existing members who live within a five-mile radius of the location,” said CEO Hank Halter. “With existing branches in Alpharetta, Johns Creek and Sandy Springs, we are excited to expand our presence in North Fulton and provide more local residents access to the superior care and value we offer on essential banking services.”

We invite you to follow us on Facebook for updates as construction progresses and for more details as we get closer to opening day. We look forward to serving the Roswell community soon!

$10,000 Awarded to Two HBCU Students

Delta Community HBCU Scholarship recipients

In December, Delta Community and Atlanta radio station V-103 presented our final HBCU Scholarships of 2025, awarding $5,000 each to Kennedy Jackson and Jackson Taylor-Shorter.

Kennedy Jackson is a second-year Chemical Engineering major at Tuskegee University and a 2024 graduate of Benjamin E. Mays High School. Maintaining a 3.8 GPA, she is active in the National Society of Black Engineers, the Society of Women Engineers, the Georgia Club and the Gardening Club, where she serves local farms and participates in community projects. Kennedy has also conducted advanced research at Georgia Tech, supporting molecular cloning techniques that may inform future therapeutic developments. Passionate about representation in STEM, she mentors underrepresented peers and advocates for inclusive opportunities.

Hillgrove High School senior Jackson Taylor-Shorter is pursuing his dream of becoming a veterinarian, with North Carolina A&T as his top choice and acceptances from additional HBCUs, including Tuskegee and Florida A&M. His hands-on experience includes mentorships with prominent Black veterinarians, participation in Tuskegee’s Vet Step programs and research at NCA&T studying infrared thermography on sheep. With more than 270 service hours, global learning experiences and leadership in community service projects, Jackson aims to increase diversity in veterinary medicine and inspire future students.

Throughout 2025, Delta Community awarded a total of $25,000 in scholarships to students attending historically Black colleges and universities. The HBCU Scholarship is part of our annual Scholarship Program which awards an additional $25,000 in scholarships to students pursuing advanced degrees.

2026 Philanthropic Recipients Named

Delta Community Philanthropic recipients

We are pleased to share that Delta Community has selected the recipients of its 2026 Philanthropic Fund grants. Throughout the year, Delta Community will invest $150,000 in support of 20 nonprofit organizations dedicated to delivering education, health, and human services to the communities they serve.

An employee-led committee carefully reviewed more than 400 applications submitted last year before selecting this year’s grant recipients. Among the organizations awarded funding are FreeRent Foundation, Nicholas House and the Georgia Justice Project.

With the distribution of these 2026 grants, the Philanthropic Fund will have invested more than $1.4 million in approximately 260 nonprofit organizations in metro Atlanta since its launch in 2014. Visit our Philanthropic Fund page for the full list of recipients and more information on how your organization can apply for a grant.
