Delta Community Celebrates 10 Years of Financial Education

Delta Community VP Jai Rogers

Dear Members,

This year marks a special milestone for Delta Community Credit Union as we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of our Financial Education Center. For a decade, we have had the privilege of walking alongside our members and neighbors as they work toward stronger, more confident financial futures.

When we launched the Financial Education Center in 2016, our goal was simple yet powerful: to make trusted financial education free, accessible and relevant at every stage of life. We believe knowledge is one of the most meaningful investments we can make in our members. Over the past 10 years, that belief has led to thousands of conversations about budgeting, saving, investing, buying a home, planning for The Financial Education Center reflects Delta Community’s deep commitment to serving not only our members, but also the communities where we live and work. It is part of our broader commitment to community investment, which includes partnerships with local schools, funding college scholarships and supporting nonprofit organizations across metro Atlanta and near our out-of-state branches. Financial empowerment remains at the heart of who we are.

Over the past decade, together we have achieved meaningful milestones:

  • 63,000 attendees of all ages
  • 2,050 workshops conducted – an average of more than 200 per year
  • 116 unique workshop topics
  • An overall 89% attendee satisfaction rating
  • More than 20 national and state awards for adult and youth financial literacy
  • 19,000 views of the Executive Insights video series hosted by senior leaders
  • 164,000 views of Insightful Tips

Behind every number is a story—a first-time homebuyer gaining clarity, a family creating their first budget, a student learning how to manage credit or a retiree planning with greater confidence. These moments are what truly define the impact of Delta Community’s Financial Education Center.

As we look to the future, we remain committed to expanding our workshops, introducing timely new topics and leveraging innovative technology to serve even more members in meaningful ways.

Thank you for trusting us to be part of your financial journey over the past decade. If you have not attended a session recently, we invite you to join us and experience this valuable member benefit.

We look forward to continuing this journey of learning, growth and financial confidence—together.

With gratitude,

JAI ROGERS-THOMAS

Maximizing your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) contributions is a smart move for securing your financial future. With tax season in full swing, now is the perfect time to ensure you're taking full advantage of your IRA’s benefits.

Contributing the maximum amount to your IRA offers valuable tax advantages. Whether making prior-year or current-year contributions, you may be able to deduct3 eligible amounts from your taxable income, allowing your savings to grow tax-deferred until retirement. Additionally, maximizing your contributions helps you harness the power of compounding growth, increasing the long-term potential of your savings.

For the 2025 tax year, individuals may contribute up to $7,000 if they are under age 50 and up to $8,000 if they are age 50 or older. Contributions may be made until April 15, 2026. The IRS limits for 2026 allow contributions of up to $7,500 for individuals under age 50 and $8,600 for those 50 and older.

If you’re a Delta Community IRA owner, you can conveniently make both prior-year and current-year contributions using Online Banking, visiting any branch or by calling our IRA Specialists at 404-677-7600, Option 1. Don’t miss out on this opportunity—act now to take full advantage of your IRA benefits before the deadline!

Philanthropic Fund Grants Awarded in February

Delta Community Philanthropic Fund Recipients

The Delta Community Credit Union Philanthropic Fund awards $150,000 annually to registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that help families strengthen their financial well-being and support the health and success of young people. In February, we proudly awarded an additional $32,500 through our 2026 Philanthropic Fund to four nonprofits making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve.

Georgia Justice Project received $10,000 for its Strengthening Access to Employment & Economic Stability program. This grant supports efforts to reduce barriers to reentry by helping individuals with criminal histories access employment, housing and educational opportunities, promoting long-term stability and safer, stronger communities.

L.E.A.D. Center for Youth received $10,000 for its Empowering through Sports-Based Youth Development program. Funding will provide in-school training, sports leagues, mentoring and summer programming at no cost to families, helping youth build leadership skills, confidence and pathways to college, careers or service.

C5 Georgia Youth Foundation received $7,500 for its Georgia Youth Success program. This five-year initiative provides academic support, leadership development and experiential learning for teens from under-resourced communities, creating a proven pathway to high school graduation, college acceptance and long-term economic mobility.

Bankhead Boys Association received $5,000 for its Youth Mentorship, Life Skills Training, and Tutoring program. The grant strengthens mentorship, academic support and life skills development for at-risk boys in areas of concentrated poverty, helping them build healthier, more successful futures.

We are proud to support these organizations and the meaningful work they do each day. Together, we’re helping build stronger, healthier communities for all.
