How do I remove a joint owner from my personal account?

There are two ways to remove a joint owner from your account.

If the joint is willing to sign to be removed, then they will need to complete the Remove Joint Owner form.
If the joint is unable to sign, then you will need to close and reopen the account from which you are trying to remove the joint owner. A form to close the account, as well as a new signature card are required. To request these forms, you can visit a branch office, call us at 1-800-544-3328 or send a request within Online Banking from Contact Us under Additional Services.
In order to remove a joint owner, the account balance must have a positive balance.
