IRA Contribution Limits

How much can I put in my IRA for this year and can it be done online?

  • 2019 & 2020 contribution limit is $6,000
    • Contributions for 2019 can be made through July 15, 2020
  • Catch-up contribution limit for IRA owners age 50 or older is $1000

The due date for filing 2019 Federal income tax returns has been extended to July 15, 2020. The deadline to make contributions to your IRA for 2019 is also extended to July 15, 2020. State deadlines require individual state approval. Members should verify if their state filing deadline has also been extended. You can make regular IRA contributions online from your own Savings, Additional Savings, Checking or Money Market accounts. To do this, log in to your Online Banking account and transfer the funds utilizing the Transfer tool. (Contributions for the prior tax year may be made online until the tax return due date of the current year, which is July 15th this year.)

If you prefer to mail a check for your regular contributions, you may access the Roth IRA Deposit form and the Traditional IRA Deposit form. Complete, sign, and mail to Delta Community, P.O. Box 20541, Atlanta, GA 30320-2541, Attn: IRA Dept.
