Courtesy Pay Service

No More Bounced Checks

What is Courtesy Pay?

Delta Community Credit Union’s Courtesy Pay service is one of our Account Protection tools that covers bounced checks and Automated Clearing House (ACH) items such as electronic payments made with your Checking Account number.

How Can Courtesy Pay Help Me?

Unforeseen emergencies or situations can happen that may cause your account to have insufficient funds when a check or electronic payment, such as your mortgage note, is presented. With Courtesy Pay, the transaction will be paid and you'll avoid the hassle and inconvenience of your check/ACH being returned or incurring merchant fees.

How are Overdraft Protection and Courtesy Pay different?

Overdraft Protection and Courtesy Pay services are designed to prevent your qualifying Checking Account transactions from being rejected due to insufficient funds. Overdraft Protection uses the funds in your qualified Delta Community Credit Union accounts such as your Savings Account or Money Market Account to cover insufficient funds in your Checking Account. Courtesy Pay does not link any of your accounts and allows your account to go negative in order to pay for your items that would have originally been rejected.*

How Do I Sign Up for Courtesy Pay?

You don’t have to sign up for Courtesy Pay. It’s a service that all Free Checking and Interest Checking Account holders receive after their account has been open for 60 days or more and all eligibility requirements are met.

You can enjoy a coverage limit up to $500 as long as your account has a balance greater than $0 and there are no delinquent loans with Delta Community Credit Union.*

Still have questions? Review our Account Protection Tools Frequently Asked Questions. You can also contact a Credit Union Member Care representative or come into any one of our local Credit Union locations for further assistance.

*Transactions covered for Courtesy Pay and Courtesy Pay Plus count toward the $500 maximum coverage limit. Fees up to $25 may be assessed for each transaction. We pay overdrafts at our discretion under the Courtesy Pay and Courtesy Pay Plus services. This means we do not guarantee we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction when there is not enough money available in your checking or designated overdraft protection accounts to cover the item. For example, we may not pay overdrafts when you are in default on a loan with Delta Community or your account is otherwise not in good standing. Repayment of the overdraft amount is required within 30 days to maintain eligibility for this service. If you have additional overdraft items during this time, the account still must be brought to a positive balance on or before the 30th day from the date of the initial overdraft item. Deposits received by Delta Community Credit Union during the 30 days will be applied first to your overdrawn checking account balance. Courtesy Pay and Courtesy Pay Plus are not available for SpendSafe Checking Accounts.
