Delta Community Announces 2023 Philanthropic Fund Grant Recipients

Credit Union Marks 10th Anniversary of Philanthropic Fund With Awards of $150,000 to 20 Metro Atlanta Nonprofits

ATLANTA (Dec. 1, 2022) – Delta Community Credit Union (www.DeltaCommunityCU.com), Georgia's largest credit union with more than $9.1 billion in assets, announces the 2023 recipients of the annual grants from its Philanthropic Fund, marking the 10th anniversary of the program, which has now awarded more than $1 million in grants to approximately 200 nonprofit organizations since 2014.

“For the past 10 years we have been proud to invest in worthwhile nonprofit organizations in metro Atlanta that focus on financial education; science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) education; and health and human services,” said Delta Community CEO Hank Halter. “We view these grants as part of our corporate responsibility to support such worthwhile organizations as they enhance the quality of life and opportunities available in the communities we are privileged to serve.”

Throughout the coming year, the Philanthropic Fund will invest $150,000 in 20 organizations as follows:

Individual grants of $10,000 will be awarded to:

  • Communities In Schools of Atlanta
  • Sunshine on a Ranney Day
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta
  • Midwest Food Bank Georgia
  • Food Well Alliance
  • Kids' Doc on Wheels, Inc.
  • Breakthrough Atlanta

Individual grants of $7,500 will be awarded to:

  • Women in Technology (WIT)
  • Youth Empowerment Success Services
  • Four Corners Group, Inc.
  • Frazer Center
  • Start:ME Accelerator
  • Great Prospects Inc.

Individual grants of $5,000 will be awarded to:

  • Atlanta Community Food Bank
  • Bearings Bike Works
  • Revved Up Kids, Inc.
  • VOX Teen Communications (also known as VOX ATL)
  • Mental Fitness 21st Century Learning
  • Ser Familia, Inc.
  • Everybody Wins! Atlanta

These Philanthropic Fund grants are decided by a committee of Delta Community employees from different functional areas who serve for one year. The committee reviews applications and makes awards based on the amount requested; the proposed use of the funds; and alignment between the receiving organization’s mission and the Credit Union’s formal community investment strategy.
