HBCU Scholarship Presented to Paine College Student

HBCU Recipient

In July, Delta Community and Atlanta radio station Majic 107.5/97.5 awarded the second $2,500 HBCU Scholarship of 2020 to Anthony Ellis of Stockbridge, via a Zoom video conference.

Anthony is majoring in Accounting with a goal of helping members of our community understand finance and money management. He is both an accomplished scholar and outstanding student athlete, maintaining a perfect 4.00 grade point average as a Presidential Scholar while serving as a captain of the baseball team. Additionally, he has been a campus leader in other areas; he has been president of the Student Athletic Council and Mr. Homecoming 2020; he was also the Student-Athlete of the Year for 2019-2020. Anthony loves assisting children and has been a regular volunteer helping kids at local Augusta schools. He is from Stockbridge, Georgia, and graduated from Dutchtown High School in 2017.

Throughout 2020, we will award a total of $10,000 in scholarships to students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the state of Georgia. The HBCU Scholarship is part of Delta Community’s annual Scholarship Program. Visit our website to learn more about all of the scholarships that we offer.

Cool Cash Camps

Last month, over 350 children attended the seventh annual series of our Cool Cash Money Camps through virtual sessions with fun, interactive discussions and games. These youth camps are designed to help children between the ages of 7 and 14 learn more about money basics, including the value of earning and saving money, the importance of spending it wisely and credit basics.

Upon completing the class, the children were sent workbooks and encouraged to make good financial decisions. Visit our website to find more savings tips and activities for your kids!
